FFL / NFA Transfers
Southside Strategic is a licensed Type 01 FFL and [PENDING - July 2026] Special Occupational Taxpayer (SOT). We facilitate incoming and outgoing firearm transfers as well as NFA transfers for customers in the DFW Metroplex and surrounding areas. All transfers are handled in full compliance with federal law, including ATF Form 4473, NICS background check requirements, and applicable NFA transfer procedures.
Transfer Fees
$30
Per firearm. Includes ATF Form 4473 and NICS background check.
$50
Per firearm. Includes preparation and shipment to receiving FFL dealer. Shipping costs additional.
$100
Per NFA item. Includes ATF Form 4 processing as receiving SOT dealer.
Incoming FFL Transfers
We accept incoming firearm transfers from any licensed FFL dealer in the United States. Whether you purchased a firearm online, at an auction, or through a private sale, we can receive it on your behalf and complete the transfer legally.
To initiate an incoming FFL transfer:
- Contact us at ffl@southsidestrategic.com to schedule your transfer.
- Provide our FFL information to your selling dealer so they can ship directly to us.
- Once the firearm arrives, we will contact you to schedule pickup and complete your ATF Form 4473 and NICS background check.
- Upon approval, your firearm is released to you.
All transfers are by appointment. We do not have a walk-in storefront.
Outgoing FFL Transfers
We facilitate outgoing firearm transfers to any licensed FFL dealer in the United States. Whether you are selling a firearm privately, shipping to a buyer, or transferring to a dealer in another state, we handle the paperwork and shipping on your behalf. Currenty, we are not providing packing services. Customer is responsible for bringing firearm(s) in a ready to ship state (box, bubble wrapped, & filler). We provide packing tape.
To initiate an outgoing FFL transfer:
- Contact us at ffl@southsidestrategic.com to schedule your outgoing transfer.
- Bring the firearm to us by appointment. We will verify the firearm, confirm the receiving FFL's information, and complete all required documentation.
- We ship the firearm directly to the receiving FFL dealer on your behalf.
- We provide you with tracking information once the shipment is dispatched.
Third-Party NFA Transfers
As a [PENDING - July 2026] SOT, we will serve as your local receiving dealer for NFA/Title II items purchased from third-party dealers nationwide. This includes suppressors, short-barreled rifles (SBRs), short-barreled shotguns (SBSs), and any other NFA-regulated items.
To initiate a third-party NFA transfer:
- Contact us at nfa@southsidestrategic.com before purchasing your NFA item so we can provide our FFL and SOT information to the selling dealer.
- The selling dealer ships the item to us via ATF Form 3 (dealer-to-dealer).
- Once received, we initiate your ATF Form 4 application. You will need to provide a valid government-issued ID and complete all required ATF paperwork.
- Upon ATF Form 4 approval, we contact you to schedule pickup and complete the transfer.
Additional Services
We offer the following additional services commonly required for NFA applications, ATF form submissions, and other regulatory purposes:

Per set of ink fingerprint cards (FD-258). Single use only. Set must be mailed to ATF by customer.

Electronic fingerprint file for digital ATF eForm 4 and 1 submissions. Can be reused for future submissions.

Compliant passport-style photo for ATF eForm 4 and 1 submissions.

Hands-on, one-on-one guidance through every step of your ATF eForm 1 submission. We review your
documentation, walk you through the process, and ensure your application is complete and accurate
before submission.

Important Notes
- All transfers are conducted in compliance with the Gun Control Act of 1968, the National Firearms Act, and all applicable ATF regulations.
- You must be a legal resident of Texas to take possession of a firearm or NFA item through Southside Strategic.
- All purchasers must pass a NICS background check. Exception: Texas License to Carry (LTC) holders do not have to complete a NICS background check when purchasing a firearm from a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL). Southside Strategic will not complete any transfer to a prohibited person under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g).
- NFA items are subject to all applicable state and federal laws. It is the customer's responsibility to verify that the item is legal to own in their jurisdiction.
- Transfer fees do not include the cost of the firearm or NFA item, shipping charges, or any applicable sales tax.
